Okay...where to start?  Let's see...

Basically, Melanie felt that the new Underground in Doylestown shouldn't be without
a lingerie shop - a lingerie shop with an edge.  However, she was not able to find
someone willing to take on such an endeavor and spots were filling up quickly.  Even
though she had just recently opened up Nature's Splendor upstairs, she decided
to make it a go herself.

Melanie didn't want to spread herself to thin however.  Therefore, she approached
Stephanie with the idea.  Over a margarita or two (Did someone say margarita? hehe),
both Melanie and Stephanie quickly realized that they were both exactly on the same
page with what the store should and could be.  They  easily became business partners
and Privé Leather & Lace was born :)  Woohoo! :p

That's it in a nutshell :)

One dealt only in plus sizes.  One catered to mostly boring everyday sleepwear (How the heck is that lingerie??)  One of the biggest known names out there offered a lot of poorly made, less-tasteful items.  The department stores - well, let's just say they're department stores and leave it at that.  Some shops specialized in only bra fitting (like we can't figure that out for ourselves- duh) :p  Basically, they just do bras and the matching panties with a few other items here and there.  Let me say, some aren't so pretty.  Can you say "grandma."  On that note, why can't grandmas feel and look pretty???  These more mature women have been there and back.  They deserve a little sexiness, sophistication, and yes, style.  Another really large name in lingerie has completely re-done their look.  We were amazed when we walked in.  How should we explain our experience.  Melanie's went something like this:

Melanie walked into _______ _______ and thought to herself almost immediately "What's up with all the pastels, vibrant colors, huge bows, polka-dots, and stripes.  My Goodness!  There's not even one black teddy in the place.  She turned to the manager and sales person and stated, "Um...Either I've become a real ****, or something has gone terribly wrong.  Nothing in here is gonna cut it!!!  What ever happened to even the basic classics like garters, bustiers, teddies, and  stockings in black or white?!  This stuff looks like swimsuit cover-ups for teens!  She got a laugh out of the two women and they actually agreed with her.

Finally, the last place to check out was a full blown sex shop.  Well, personally, we're both not really wild about going into a full blown sex shop every time we need a piece of lingerie, especially alone.  So, this shop wasn't completely out of the question, but  we don't need all of these goofy gadgets in our face every time we walk in.  We're thinking a heck of a lot of women out there feel the same way.

One thing we noticed that all of the shops had in common was that they did not deal in complete outfits, as in dress you from head to toe.  Last time we checked, guys/girls kinda liked the whole package.  With that, not only does Privé carry a diverse array of lingerie, we also carry a full line of jewelry accessories, such as pretty lacy chokers, sexy anklets, and bracelets, rings, and earrings to match.  Other accessories include lace-up gloves, arm guards, and cat masks.  Our heels, boots, and hosiery lines rival no other.
